About Louise Blouin

This is the Blogger site for Louise Blouin, founder and CEO of the international BlouinArtinfo Corp and chairman of the Louise Blouin Foundation. Since 2003, Blouin has been building an international family of online and print publications, originally called Louise Blouin Media, which now spans 21 nations in 5 continents and attracts millions of regular subscribers. While the primary focus of these magazines, websites and organisations is contemporary art and the art industry, they also extend across varied interests including politics, economics, fashion, culture, lifestyle and travel.

Louise Blouin is an inspiring example of entrepreneurship and dedication – in a business traditionally dominated by men, she has become one of the richest self-made people in the UK. Her net worth wasn’t built overnight, however. Blouin began as a founder and co-CEO of Trader Classified Media, an advertising company spanning both print and online media. With her expertise, the company rose to international prominence, and by the turn of the millennium, it maintained more than 70 companies with a total of 400 publications, 60 internet sites and an international staff of 7,000, through which it reached 9 million readers each week.

After selling her interests in Trader Classified Media in 2000, she formed Louise Blouin Media, which was later named Blouin Corp and is presently being rebranded as BlouinArtinfo Corp. The company publishes a range of content focused primarily on the world of contemporary art – including market and industry insights for professionals, news of exhibition premieres, interviews with renowned traders and collectors as well as exploratory pieces covering the development of contemporary art as a field. The company has grown quickly, making inroads into other related content areas such as lifestyle, culture, travel and international news.

Running parallel to BlouinArtinfo Corp is the Louise Blouin Foundation, one of the largest not-for-profit cultural spaces in London. Through high-profile exhibitions of artists from around the globe and extensive collaboration with influential artists of all kinds, the Louise Blouin Foundation brings wider attention to global issues through the creative arts. In particular, the annual Blouin Creative Leadership Summit brings together heads of state, NGO executives, CEOs, academics, artists, and Nobel laureates from around the world to discuss the issues that affect us all.
